Popular Chef Couple to Launch Third Dining Spot in Fitler Square

Philadelphia's culinary scene continues to evolve — and this time, it’s happening in Fitler Square. Powerhouse chef couple Amanda Shulman and Alex Kemp, known for their acclaimed restaurants Her Place Supper Club and My Loup, are preparing to open a third dining concept at 2227 Pine Street, right across from Fitler Square Park.

The new space sits at the corner of 23rd and Pine, formerly home to Cotoletta, and before that, the well-loved Dmitri’s and wine bar Tria. The chefs, who met at Momofuku Ko in NYC and married in 2023, are keeping details under wraps for now — no menu, no official name — though their corporate registration under “Pine Street Grill” hints at what’s to come.

What’s certain? A deeply rooted commitment to community. “We live not too far from there and are really fired up about opening something right on Fitler Square,” Shulman shared. “It’s all part of our master plan to keep our commute to a 15-minute walk, max.” Notably, the building is owned by real estate mogul Allan Domb, who also owns the Her Place location in Rittenhouse.

This new venture follows the couple’s ongoing momentum. Shulman, a University of Pennsylvania alum, launched Her Place in 2021 — first as a BYOB pop-up and now a fixture in Philly’s fine dining. Her rotating, elevated menu quickly captured hearts and led to multiple James Beard Award nominations, including a 2025 nod for Best Chef Mid-Atlantic. Kemp, a Canadian native, brings an equally impressive résumé, with past roles at Montreal’s Joe Beef and Eleven Madison Park.

Together, they debuted My Loup in 2023 on Walnut Street, showcasing Québécois flavors and a standout raw bar. They also ran the Amourette pop-up at the Art Alliance last summer — another nod to their innovative approach to dining.

As Fitler Square continues to attract not only sophisticated diners but also luxury homebuyers drawn to its charm and walkability, this new restaurant further elevates the neighborhood’s lifestyle appeal.
