“Summer has been incredible,” Marchel shared. “Business is exponentially up. We’ve seen waves of visitors from New York, Delaware, and beyond, especially during Memorial Day, July Fourth, and Labor Day.”
So strong was the demand that Betty’s decided to extend its season through December. Marchel noted that locals, often waiting until after the busy summer crowds disperse, even made this Labor Day weekend their time to visit.
The season’s energy wasn’t just felt by businesses. Families, friends, and year-round residents reflected on long days at the beach, bustling boardwalks, and record-breaking crowds. Eleven-year-old Carter Bruno of Philadelphia summed it up simply, recalling beach days and summer camps as highlights of his season.
While the cooler months are approaching, the Shore couldn’t have asked for a better sendoff to summer. “Mass amounts of people, but it’s all good energy,” said Margate local Jeff Hoffner. “That’s what the summer is all about.”
