It is not often that a home for sale around the Philadelphia region carries a $1 million price tag, which makes it worth a closer look when a few show up at once. A newly built townhouse in Philadelphia's Queen Village neighborhood, complete with heated floors and a roof deck offering unobstructed skyline views, currently tops the list, alongside comparable properties in Medford and the New Hope area. Across this price point, the same features tend to show up again and again: location, meaningful outdoor space, and one or two standout details that set a home apart from the rest of the listings around it.
At the very top of the region's luxury market, one name keeps coming up: Eustace Mita, founder of Icona Resorts and its sister company Achristavest, which has invested hundreds of millions of dollars into luxury hotels and multimillion-dollar homes at the Jersey Shore. Mita's company is currently building an 18,000-square-foot spec mansion in Avalon that would be the largest residential property in town when finished, a reminder that for buyers with a bigger budget, the Shore is where the region's most ambitious builds are happening.
